Yayasan Rumah SukkhaCitta is the non-profit foundation behind awards-winning social enterprise SukkhaCitta.

We set out to end the exploitation of indigenous women in rural Indonesia - empowering those who are the most vulnerable: women, working from home, in Villages, not factories

Focusing on agriculture and craft, we ensure living wages while also finding ways to protect the environment.

Our Work

  • Building Craft Schools

    Building Craft Schools

Without fair access to the market, over 2 Mio craftswomen in Indonesia struggle to feed their children - while polluting their homes with toxic dyes and chemicals.

We introduce new designs, business skills, quality control and environmentally friendly practices - so the women can earn a living wage while protecting the planet.

  • Regenerative Agriculture

We introduce simple farming practices that go beyond organic - regenerating the soil so it can hold more water and absorb carbon from the atmosphere. Through organic fertilizer, no tilling and intercropping, we boost smallholder farmers’ income and make them more resilient against climate change.

  • Transforming Waste

Together with our farmers & makers, we are looking for ways to turn waste into innovative materials - like sylk made of banana stem.

Creating new opportunities for smallholder farmers while reducing pollution from burning agricultural waste.

SukkhaCitta creates social impact by investing in the capacity building of rural craftswomen and ensuring that the women earn a living wage.”
